The Société de l’Assurance Automobile du Québec (SAAQ) has been given the responsibility, under the Highway Safety Code, to ensure that motor coaches as well as commercial vehicles over 3 000 kg net mass be subjected to a preventive maintenance program including routine checks and periodical mechanical inspections.

   The mechanics assigned to the preventive maintenance program have successfully completed a course on preventive maintenance. The exam is approved by the Société de l’Assurance Automobile du Québec (SAAQ).

   Preventive maintenance will ensure that a vehicle, in all its parts and equipment, is in proper operating condition. Routine checks are performed each day on all vehicles, and they are also submitted to thorough inspections every three months. A report is filed following each inspection in order to ensure a constant follow-up on the condition of each vehicle.
